Are You Ready to Start Getting Job Interviews?
Are You Ready to Start Getting Job Interviews?Have you been accepted for a job, only to find out that your resume is missing the essential ingredients that lead to success in today's market? Before you know it, you'll be paying hundreds of dollars for resume services, but you'll have the same resume - and not get any work. You may have worked so hard, applying for jobs using this same resume service that you feel you have no way to get your name out there again. No matter.Since so many are not working at all, if you've had a few unsuccessful interviews, this can be a great time to get back on the road to success. It's easy to make a mistake when writing a resume. A good resume will be one that is filled with only your qualifications. This is the stuff that most employers are looking for and what they're afraid to give up when they see work experience. Your resume should not include any information about you doing some project work and provide little to no references.Once you've written your resume and saved it, it's time to really go to work. First of all, review what's on it. If you've added an irrelevant category, remove it, or at least indicate that you're changing it.Remove all the extra space you might have filled up with your social security number and other unnecessary details. You also want to make sure that there are no other items on the page that could cause another employer to think that you don't truly understand what you're trying to achieve. Be concise and keep it professional, yet easy to read.Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, ask the resume service for feedback on the job you're trying to apply for. Look for areas where you can do some improvement, and do so immediately.Resume services aren't here to get your name on the job anymore. They're here to help you get your name on the job.

Network Everywhere You Go!
Network Everywhere You Go! By, Ashley Bodi Every day millions of people around the world limit their networking efforts to online social networks. Go against the crowd! With all the online social networks we have at our fingertips, dont underestimate the power of networking with others around you wherever you go. Network when you go out to eat, when you are shopping, when you travel in airports or wherever your day takes you. Why? Because most people wont. Dont forget there could be potential customers or future employers standing right next to you when you are busy fiddling with your phone. When you go shopping, talk to the girl waiting on you. Dont be afraid to tell her what you do for a living. You never know how a conversation about a cute handbag could lead to a new customer or opportunity. In fact, theres a good chance your sales associate is doing the same thing as you- working a day job and a side job. I cant tell you how many amazing people I have met while being out and about. These chance encounters have turned into relationships that have become some of the people I work closest with and go to for advice. There are so many opportunities when you talk with those around you. If they have a business card, make sure to exchange. Never underestimate the power of the business card! Those things are like gold waiting to be found. Seriously, dont leave the house without your business cards. In order to be extraordinary, you must think outside of the box when building or running a business. Those who go the traditional way these days are sort of caught in the crowd and overlooked. Think about something outrageous you saw. Every time you think about that event, you know exactly what it is about. And you wont forget about it either! Make what you do stand out and dont be afraid to go outside of your boundaries. Dont be afraid to stand on the edge, especially if you have a great thing people should know about. Sometimes fear can hold us back from opportunities. Until you at least try, you will never know just how great you, your business or your career can be. Always remember to reach out to those that you meet because your next awesome customer, employer or connection could be standing right next to you. Online networking is great, but at the core we all still want face-to-face interaction. Thats how people truly remember you and get to know the person behind the business. Dont just think outside the box when it comes to networking, think WAY outside the box. Have you ever exchanged business cards with someone while you were out? Where were you and what became of the connection? How soon do you follow up with someone after meeting them?

6 Reasons You Should Offer Work Experience to Students
6 Reasons You Should Offer Work Experience to Students After years spent studying and racking up thousands in debt to achieve a degree you would think the first thing a student has to do is get a job before theyve even graduated. But not everyone thinks so. In fact Mary Curnock Cook, the outgoing head of British university admissions service UCAS, says students should take their time before finding a job. She says that many youngsters needed time to find their career niche. And it was important they had some down time after studying. Recently, the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) said that most employers claimed that graduates arent skilled enough to join the world of work. So how can employers help graduates make the transition from the world of studying to work? The most practical answer is to offer students work experience. And these are the reasons why its beneficial to employers: 1. It helps your other employees Having someone on a work experience placement means they need supervision, guidance and even a mentor. This helps to boost your teams morale as it shows them that you trust them enough to be responsible. It also helps your employees develop their own supervisory skills which will help you and them should a senior position arise that they could be considered for. 2. Its good branding for the company If youve got a really effective and organised work placement scheme that young people genuinely feel they can benefit from then they will soon be telling their friends, who will be telling their friends. This means you get to choose from the best young talent out there. Word of mouth is one of the best forms of marketing out there and its free. Your companyâs reputation for investing in young people will be ranked quite highly so more people will want to come and work for you. 3. It doesnt cost you financially (no, really) You dont legally have to pay for people on work experience students. That doesnt mean you can take advantage of a free workforce and exploit them as that would just be wrong, but most people understand that work experience is just that experience. Some companies do offer to pay for travel expenses or provide lunch vouchers but if it means you can spot future talent then its a small price to pay. 4. Enthusiasm Now unless the person has been brought to your company kicking and screaming because they dont want to be there, most people on work experience come with a bag full of enthusiasm and positivity and often brimming with new ideas. 5. Its a great recruitment strategy Theres no doubt the workforce is getting younger and if thats where you see your company going in the future then by offering work experience programmes is a great way to go about this. Its easier to spot talent when you can see them in the work place and there is nothing stopping you from offering them a permanent role such as an apprenticeship or part time roles whilst they are at university? Young people are also like sponges and will soak up what they learn at your company. This will reduce your cost of bringing in more experienced, skilled professionals. 6. Helps young people to mature Most people on work experience will never have been exposed to the world of work and most of their knowledge about the world of work will be classroom-based or something theyve read on the internet or social media. So, when they do work experience, they tend to mature and are able to make more informed choices about their future career. Theyre also more likely to stay within that industry and, if you are in a position to offer permanent work such as apprenticeships or graduate positions, that person is more likely to remain with your company. Whether students should secure work before theyve even left university or wait until theyve found the right career for them is something that can be debated all day long. But as an employer it wouldnt harm you to give them a helping hand now and again.

Tips on Hiring a Montclair Resume Writing Workshop
Tips on Hiring a Montclair Resume Writing WorkshopWhen hiring a Montclair resume writing workshop, the advice they give is to hire someone who specializes in Montclair resumes and then add their name to your cover letter. If you were the one who created the cover letter, then you would be making that happen anyway.Do you ever think of your own name? I do, and it tends to come up while writing a resume or job application, but not every time. You want your professional employer to see your best qualities, and you want to impress them to be sure you can stay with them.It helps if you know how to sell yourself, because this is what separates the jobseekers from the professionals and gives them the advantage. Some individuals believe they are talented enough to leave it up to someone else to write a cover letter for them, which is not so.A Cover Letter is something that must be written so it is clear and concise, yet written in a way that will grab the reader's attention. It should contai n three things: First, it needs to convince the reader that you are the right candidate for the job. Secondly, it must create the impression that you are willing to take the job and be responsible for all the tasks and responsibilities. Finally, the words need to give the impression that you are looking for an opportunity. When applying for a position you need to apply for a position as honestly as possible, because there will be some people who will tell you that you can't get the job and therefore you might avoid applying for it.At a Montclair resume writing workshop you will learn all about creating a solid cover letter, and if you practice your work at home, you can do it without them helping you. You want to create a letter that appeals to the recipient by writing a good, convincing cover letter. Not only will this build your confidence, but it will also show that you have taken the time to research this company and learn all about what it has to offer. Also, remember that a cove r letter is an important part of the resume. It shows the HR representative that you are aware of the benefits that are being offered and that you are serious about applying for the job. When reading the letter, they will understand your intent and apply the necessary steps to get the information you have provided to them. The cost of a Montclair resume writing workshop will be covered entirely by your own funds, and in most cases, you can take it online. This is a great option because it saves you time and makes it easy to find someone who can help you write the perfect cover letter.

Peak state - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog
Peak state - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Im back from my Tony Robbins course, seminar, training, event in London this weekend and it was quite an experience. I had some preconceived ideas about what it would be like. It would be highly american. People yelling and jumping for no reason. Rock concert atmosphere. Tony Robbins jumping wildly on stage. It was all true. Multiplied by 10. And it totally, absolutely, convincingly and magnificently rocked. I can highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn something about themself and get the energy and some tools to do something about it. The thing is, I cant tell you much about what actually happens, because if youre not there, actively participating it just sounds really, really weird. When youre there, doing it, pushing yourself to do it to the max, it works. And it makes total, perfect sense that it would. I will tell you my main lessons from the event: Personal change starts most effectively from the body. Want to put your mind in a specific mental state? Put your body in the state associated with that mental state -the mind then follows. This is based on NLP. A physical and mental peak state can be created in seconds. I have been getting too comfortable. Ibe been forgetting, that I actually like taking risks and being in situations that I dont know the outcome of. I want more of that and less comfort and certainty. Tony Robbins himself is a great, great speaker. I agree with 90-95% of what he says, but I agree 110% with how he says it. Hes at turns funny, gentle, philosophical, technical and then funny again. Hes also on stage for hours on end with total presence and energy. He speaks to and activates all the senses and of course the body. Its never boring and always surprising. This experience has completely changed my perception of what is possible in a workshop/training/course format. I totally loved being there, and I will sorely miss the feeling of going totally wild along with such a great crowd. Because being among 10.000 people who are totally fired up, happy, energetic and who are constantly high-fiving, encouraging and hugging each other feels really, really good :o) Thanks for visiting my blog. Auburn University Welcomes Joshua Waldman - CareerEnlightenment.com
âWhat happens to that level of trust of trust when you donât have a picture?â he asked. âYouâre sending a message. What am I hiding?âSome photos are worth hiding, however, and social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook can also be avenues for continued unemployment.âYou donât put pictures of yourself drinking unless youâre trying to get a job as a bartender, or pictures of yourself half-clothed unless youâre trying to get a job as a stripper,â he said. âYou want to emulate the career that you are trying to go for, even with your friends and family. People think âIâm just going to do Facebook and do whatever I want on Facebook because itâs my right.â Well, actually itâs not your right or your privilege.âWaldman told students that potentially embarrassing photos, or comments, can be erased by using the SimpleWash (http://simplewa.sh/login) application for Facebook and Twitter.A key point Waldman made was, âNetworking always works,â and encou raged students to âgo offlineâ with job recruiters and build a âhuman connection.ââItâs not about how big your network is, itâs how deep the relationships are that you build,â he said. âWhen you can build strong, meaningful relationships, you will succeed.â
